Search giant Google has made a great contribution to the e-world. With the newer technologies and ideas Google has changed the traditional meaning of search engine and its effectiveness.
The two services about which I am going to discuss are Google insights and Google trends. A proper and clear idea on both of these services will help to understand the actual differences and similarities between this two. Now take a look at both of these carefully.
Google insights: Google insights for search is a service of Google introduced in 2008 (5th August). This service provides an idea what the terms are which the general people all over the world are entering into the search engine of Google.
This service provides or presents the most searched keyword according to the regional map and helps to research on keyword. This also indicates the rising trend of the keyword and top searched keyword.
The result provides by this service can be shortened by categories. Through this service it has been found that the order of the key words is responsible for different results that is entering key word in a different order will change the whole result.
Google trends: Google trends is another service of Google for search engine which indicates or represents the result of the frequency or regularity of entering a keyword into the search engine according to different languages and regions of the world.
The axis (horizontal) indicates the time and the axis (vertical) indicates how often the particular keyword is searched relatively to the total number of searched keywords on a global basis. Some additional Google trends services are:
Google hot trends: Google hot trends is another service offered along with the Google trends which shows the top 20 keywords searched in the past hours all around the USA.
Google trends for websites: This is another section (sub) of Google trend which indicates the traffic of any website instead of traffic of keyword. Alexa internet also provides such service.
Google trends API: Though Marissa Mayer announced this service in 2007; it has not yet been launched. But some unofficial API tools have been published in recent years.
These were the basic of Google trends and Google Insights. Both of these services designed by Google are very helpful for those who research the keywords. Both of these have good site and are effective but as an advanced service the Google Insights service is more likely to be more effective in some particular cases.
